Cerium Oxide in NEXGEN™

Xenum has created a unique diesel additive technology known as NEXGEN™, which is based on nano-particles of cerium oxide, a widely recognised oxidation catalyst. This technology enhances diesel engine combustion and performance.

Being 10 nanometres in size, the NEXGEN™ cerium oxide particles have a large surface area.
This means that even at low concentrations, NEXGEN™ is an exceptionally effective catalyst, delivering maximum oxidation power and improved performance for diesel engines.


NEXGEN™ additives deliver a catalytic effect that offers remarkable benefits for modern diesel engines. It ensures more complete and efficient fuel combustion, even oxidising soot particles to generate additional energy. By enhancing combustion and engine efficiency, NEXGEN™ additives help to decrease harmful emissions such as:

  • Carbon Dioxide (CO₂): The emission of CO₂ is directly linked to fuel consumption. Every kilogram of fuel saved can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to three kilograms.
  • Particulates : Reductions of up to 18% have been observed.
  • Hydrocarbons (HC): Reductions of up to 13% have been observed.
  • Carbon Monoxide (CO): Reductions of up to 6% have been observed.

NEXGEN™ prevents the buildup of carbon deposits and effectively removes existing ones. It works particularly well in areas where deposits accumulate, such as the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), cylinder head, piston crown and turbo vanes.
